Acclaimed Haitian DJ/producer Francis Mercier joins forces with legendary Belgian producer Like Mike and UK songstress Darla Jade on "Speed of Light," an incendiary track poised to light up dancefloors and airwaves everywhere this fall.
"Speed of Light" is out now on Tiesto’s deep house imprint AFTR:HRS.
Hot off his recent song "Right into You," with Claptone and Mansionair, Like Mike has one of the most storied resumes in dance music, from headlining sets at Tomorrowland's mainstage to creating the iconic sound of "Mammoth" to collaborations with everyone from Hans Zimmer to Snoop Dog, not to mention twice being named #1 DJ of the year by DJ Mag with his brother, Dimitri Vegas.
One of the top Afro and deep house artists on the scene, Francis Mercier's recent track "Sete" with Blond:ish and Amadou & Marian hit #2 on Beatport, was covered in Billboard, and spun by everyone from Black Coffee to Claptone to Themba to Pete Tong to Diplo. With constant touring taking him to far-flung locales like Nairobi, Beirut, Morocco, and Capetown, Mercier still finds time to run Deep Root Records, one of the only 100% black-owned dance labels out there.
On working with his collaborators, Like Mike declares, "Francis has proven himself to be an amazing producer with a unique sound. Together with Darla Jade's vocals, we turned this into a track that can't be missed." Mercier concurs: "Being able to collaborate with Like Mike and having Tiesto's nod of approval are two enormous milestones for me. These two timeless house music legends played an enormously influential role in becoming a DJ/house music producer years ago. And for Darla, she tied the perfect ribbon on top thanks to her extraordinary singer-songwriter skillset." Darla Jade is also "really excited that 'Speed Of Light' is coming out into the world! Syon and I wrote the topline back in February - it's about being in a relationship for a long time, yet your partner still gives you butterflies."
