Maykel Piron, the CEO and co-founder of Armada Music has been making waves in the electronic dance music (EDM) industry for over twenty-five years. Recently, Piron was awarded an Industry Achievement award at the Electronic Dance Music Awards (EDMAs) during Miami Music Week. The award was presented to him by his longtime friend and Armada Music co-founder, Armin van Buuren, following a breathtaking 30-minute set at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach.
"It's an honor to be recognized by the EDMAs, especially in the run-up to Armada Music's 20th anniversary."
Piron has been the driving force behind Armada Music's success since its inception in 2003. The label started small in the Netherlands and has since grown into a worldwide independent powerhouse with offices in Amsterdam, New York, and London. Armada Music represents and cultivates some of the best players in the dance music industry, including Armin van Buuren, ARTY, Audien, Brando, Cat Dealers, D.O.D, Ferry Corsten, Jan Blomqvist, Loud Luxury, and Tensnake.
When asked about receiving the award, Piron expressed his gratitude and pride. "It's an honor to be recognized by the EDMAs, especially in the run-up to Armada Music's 20th anniversary," he said. "I'm blessed to be surrounded by the best possible team, so I'd like to dedicate this award to the entire Armada Music crew as well as my business partners, Armin and David, for putting their trust in me."
Armada Music's impact on the EDM scene is evident in this year's EDMAs, with the label receiving three wins and nine nominations in various categories. Canadian duo Loud Luxury, whose debut single 'Body' feat. Brando was released on Armada Music, won the award for Best Dance / Electro Pop Song with 'These Nights' feat. KIDDO. Armin van Buuren, the label's flagship artist, claimed two awards: Music Video Of The Year (for 'One More Time' feat. Maia Wright) and Best Radio Show (for A State of Trance).
Maykel Piron's Industry Achievement award is a testament to his unwavering dedication to the music industry and his role in making Armada Music the success it is today. As the label approaches its 20th anniversary, we can only anticipate what Piron and the Armada Music crew will accomplish next.
